Tomorrow is Transmaterials Day!

Tomorrow is Transmaterials Day! We’re looking forward to a great day and are very glad so many of you are coming our way to join us for this enticing programme.

Evening Programme

Your moderator for the evening will be Michel van Dartel (whom you may remember from Coded Matter(s) #1: Unfolding Space). He will be keeping things running smoothly and making sure some questions are taken after each talk.

From here onwards: chairs are out, music is on! The musical line-up for the post-talk programme features:

Last reminders

  • Bring cash money. ATM/PIN isn’t available on-site, so if you want to buy a drink or pay at the door, some cash will be required.
  • Check your train times before departure. You know how the NS can be, so check for irregularities on the railway on their website.
  • Cigarettes. Considering there will be music and drinks afterwards, we’re guessing some of you may desire that nicotine hit. MU doesn’t sell cigarettes (nor is there a shop nearby), so bring your own pack or rollies. We can’t all be bumming smokes if nobody has them, you know.

Tour of AddLab added to Masterclass programme

Also, as a little extra for the workshop participants, we’ve organised a tour of Additive Industries’ AddLab facility at the end of the afternoon.

Additive Industries’ business model is built around a shared AddLab with 10-15 lab partners. In this lab, they learn, experiment and explore the opportunities additive manufacturing and 3D printing have to offer in creating lighter, compact, integrated, more complex ‘functional’ products and parts with better thermal performance/characteristics. The tour will follow the first part of the masterclass, which will feature an in-depth journey through the Captives project, the making of the exhibition The Sculpture Factory (currently presented at MU) and an introduction to the software framework Dedalo.

This package offers a unique introduction to the subject for all artists, designers and other creatives who have an interest in matter, software or new types of aesthetics influenced by computational processes. Coding skills are not required and they are a couple of last spots available, so grab one of those last tickets if you want to join in tomorrow!

See you tomorrow!

Whether you’re coming all day for the masterclass, tour and talks, or are just dropping in after 22.30 to have a drink and hear the sweet music; we look forward to seeing you tomorrow at Coded Matter(s) #3: Transmaterials!
