Moderator: Michel van Dartel

A smooth evening requires proper moderation. For this delicate task, we have called on the help of Michel van Dartel, known for his work as project manager and curator at V2_, Institute for the Unstable Media. Michel will be your host and guide you through the evening, as well as make sure questions are taken and answered.

Next to his work at V2_, Michel is also currently a guest curator at art center TENT, MU gallery and the Energize festival, and teaches at Luca Brussels University College and Hanze University of Applied Science. Besides curating and teaching, Michel is associate editor of the Journal for Artistic Research and works as an advisor to the Mondriaan Foundation, Creative Industries Fund NL, and the Amsterdam Fund for the Arts a.o. Among his recent publications is the e-book New Aesthetic, New Anxieties, which he co-authored together with David Berry, Michael Dieter, Michelle Kasprzak, Nat Muller, Rachel O’Reilly and José Luis Vicente. Michel holds an MSc in Cognitive Psychology and a PhD in Artificial Intelligence.

To back this all up with some street credibility, he also is a skateboard veteran, founding member of music group The Rose Frustrates and DJ.
